Artist Info

Scottish post-punk pop group formed in Glasgow in 1979. Originally comprising Clare Grogan (vocals), Tony McDaid (guitar), John McElhone (bass), Gerard "Caesar" McInulty (guitar) and Michael "Tich" Anderson (drums). McInulty left in 1981 to form The Wake with Jim McKinven (guitar/keyboards) replacing him. They soon adopted synthpop stylings under the influence of producers including Martin Rushent and Mike Chapman. The group split in 1983 (Anderson and McKinven had already left the previous year). Clare (who had already appeared in the hit film "Gregory's Girl" in 1980) was also an actress appearing under the name CP Grogan.

After playing many 80s festivals with Clare solo, in the 2020s she formed a live band with rotating members to tour their new and past material. Those musicians included Gillian Bickerstaff (Chi (4)), Charlotte Printer, Andrew Cowan (7) and Mandy Clarke (2)/
